Quick Catch-Up

After the bow party with Boozer here is what happened in my life:

1. Christmas was spent in warm, sunny California with my parents, my sister, brother in law, nieces, and Perry.

2. New Year's was spent in freezing cold temperatures in Salt Lake and I was able to share it once again with Perry and in the company of some great friends.

3. January had a visit to California to visit the Toad.

4. February was my 1st trip to Texas, where I spent Valentine's Day. Went up to Austin with Perry.

5. March was a full month - St. Patrick's Day, another visit to Texas for Perry's 1st football game of the season, and James' birthday.

6. April was a month of ups and downs. Perry tore his LCL so he couldn't play and came into town. We ended up going to Vegas with Kyle and Tara. Then I spent a week and a half in California enjoying my family and the sun.

7. That leaves today, Cinco De Mayo!!!

And the rest has yet to be written.

Brynn's 1st Dance Performance

On December 4th 2010 my "not-a-niece" Brynn had her 1st Dance Performance at the Festival of Trees.

Brynn didn't think her stage time was up and had to be ushered off by one of the older dancers.

In November I took one of my monthly trips to California to babysit my niece while my sister and her hubby had a date weekend (really for her to work but they got to be without kids).

I was lucky enough to have Perry agree to meet me out there for the weekend.

The first visit after a long break and it was all over for me... :-)

It was the first time Annabelle had met Perry and she took to him instantly. Wanted nothing to do with her Aunt, just wanted to hang out with "Cherry".

After my sister and Zack got back, Perry and I were able to go to the beach and just hang out together.

Pumpkin Carving

Lucky for me I have a ton of friends that have kids.

For the 1st time in years I was able to carve pumpkins for Halloween (okay, I didn't end up carving my own but I got to watch little kids do it, bake the seeds and just have a good time).

I watched my friend James' sons for the night and we went to Wheeler Farm for the Halloween Festivities.

After a slight downpour we went to feed the ducks. Kara has a fear of them since she's been attacked a couple times but I assured her she had nothing to worry about.

Ever since I was little Undertaker has been one of my favorites, so when I heard he was going to be wrestling a match I was beyond excited.

Not only was he wrestling, he was competing against his "brother", Kane, and not only that, but it was in a steel cage (not something that is good for picture taking).

Victoria saw this costume at a garage sell a couple months back and had to buy it for Toad.

My niece is officially a John Cena fan!

I taught her the "you can't see me" move and even after 2 months she remembered it.

Then when we were at Walmart I saw this 2 piece outfit for $3. I figured I could buy it and give it to my friend's little boy that also likes John Cena.

That plan changed when I showed the outfit to Annabelle.

"My Cena?" was all I heard so I let her hold it and figured she'd eventually forget about it, but when we got to the register "My Cena there?".

Then we got home and she wanted to wear 'her Cena' and then when we tried to change her for Zack's bday party she threw a fit.

The next morning when she woke up she needed to wear her Cena outfit again.

For Zack's 30th birthday my mom and I flew to California to visit the family and to celebrate.

We arrived late Friday night when everyone was already asleep so Saturday morning Annabelle got her presents.

Witchapalooza is a musical play and dinner show at Gardner Village and when we went last year it was totally fun so we went again!

Viva Las Vegas (Again)

Over the weekend of September 24th I went to Vegas for our Annual Sales Awards Trip. I was lucky enough to have my sister meet me down there so we could spend some quality time together (plus she helped me out a TON with the running around and set up).

Friday night we had the awards reception.

Saturday we had dinner and then the Cher concert.

I will admit that I wasn't totally stoked to see Cher in concert but I knew seeing her live and in Vegas was a chance I couldn't pass up.

We couldn't take pictures during the show, but it was definitely entertaining and Cher looks great for her age! If only I could be so lucky.

The same weekend my brother, Josh, was in Vegas for training and the one thing my mom wanted was a picture of the 3 of us since it's rare we're all in the same place at the same time.

We went and saw Josh after the reception on Friday and it was so late that we only stayed for a few mins and snapped a picture.

(Who knew that Embassy Suites would build 2 hotels on the SAME ROAD within a mile of each other?!?!)

On August 12th 2010 we had a small family get together. My Uncle Pat's 3 girls were in town with their kids (and hubby in Aubrey's case). It's very rare to have them all in the same place at the same time because Rosanna lives with her husband and 2 girls in Alaska, Aubrey and her husband (Tim) and 2 kids are stationed in Virginia, and Crystal lives with her husband in Georgia. My sister, Zack, Tori, and Annabelle were in town this day as well, so it was a really weird occasion!

The weekend of August 13th my sister, Zack, Tori, and Annabelle all came into town. We spent the weekend camping up at the property.

On Saturday we decided to go to the lake. My mom, Tori, Sam and Annabelle spent most of the time swimming and playing on the beach while me and the boys (dad and Zack) went fishing.

After my dog tried to give me a heart attack by falling into the lake and almost drowning (luckily he caught on to the doggie paddle before I jumped in after him) a 3-4 ft long bull snake (that's what Zack said it was) came out of the rocks...

About an hour or two after nearly drowning my dog finally settled down and took a nap.

That night the babies were exhausted and decided to watch another movie before bed...

This is Boozer on Sunday morning giving me his "I'm ready to go home" eyes.

And his eyes weren't kidding. He tried to get in the front of the truck, when the seat was folded forward and got stuck on the driver's side under the steering wheel.

And before we even got off the dirt road, he was out for the count. Nearly 2 hours drive time and he slept like this the whole time.

A Day at the Beach

Since Saturday was our last day in California (besides counting the drive home on Sunday) we decided to just have a relaxing day.

The Trip Begins

The trip began Tuesday 7/20/2010 after work. We drove to Mesquite, NV and got a room for the night, then continued the rest of our drive on Wednesday 7/21/2010.

After 6 hours in the car we figured it would be a good idea to let Braxton run around, so we took him to a park by my sister's house.

I have seen rabbits at this park before but never squirrels... And there wasn't just one or two, there were probably about 50 just running around the grass.

We left a little early so we could go to the beach and let Braxton play in the ocean for the first time, it's all he talked about the whole drive!

Over the 24th of July weekend I went to California. Instead of flying my friend Kara and her son, Braxton, drove with me. Kara hadn't been to Cali for a couple years and she really wanted to give Braxton the opportunity to see and play in the ocean. Posts are by day.

The weekend of July 16th Chris and Kara came up to my parent's property to go camping. One of the small towns (forgot the name) had "Lamb Days" on Saturday so we went down to the parade.

July 4th 2010 was on a Sunday and most people know that in Utah if a holiday falls on a Sunday they refuse to celebrate it and have to celebrate it the Saturday before. Well, being in California I was actually able to celebrate the 4th on the 4th! Not only was I able to celebrate the country's "birthday" on it's actual birthday, I was able to experience watching fireworks on the beach. It was so much fun!

2010 NBA Playoffs

The playoffs were pretty sad this year, the Jazz only made it to round 2.

I believe if they would have won their last game of the regular season they would have made it to the finals. They just have such a difficult time against the Lakers (could it be due to height or just skill?).

Anyways, I went to game 3 of round 2 with my dad. This is the game that I was sure the Jazz were going to win! But after a nail biter they ended up losing 110-111 and then got swept by LA the following Monday.

Maybe next year?

The end of April was my bi-monthly trip to Southern California to visit my sister, her hubby, and my nieces. I flew in on Wednesday and all the texts I got from people back home Thursday morning was pictures of snow... So I took a couple of my own to send their way!

Don't worry, she can put her sunglasses on herself!

So the past couple of weeks after work I have come home to see my Asia's bed torn apart. Last week I came down the hall to see my 70+lb boxer laying in her bed with his head on the floor (of course I didn't have a camera). I've been wondering why he's started doing this lately since he has his own huge pillow in the living room to lay on. Last week while watching TV I looked over to see this. I wonder if this is why Boozer has been sleeping on Asia's bed...

So this past weekend I went to Charlotte to visit my friend AJ. Sadly, we didn't do anything. I got in late Saturday night and then Sunday the weather was so bad that all the news stations warned everyone to stay indoors due to tornados, wind, hail, etc. I guess a tornado ended up touching down about 40 mins east of where I was staying. NOT FUN!

From what I did see the east is very pretty, but definitely not my style. I think I'll stick to the west coast from now on!

My last trip out to Southern California was 3/17-3/21 to visit with my sister, brother-in-law and niece.

Annabelle thought it was hilarious to play with her aunt's make-up (it was only like 5 shades darker than her)
